“When you least expect it” was the quote that lingered in the two young men’s minds, as they approached the door to success in an UNPREDICTABLE manner. Success refused to listen, but with the bestowing persistence of poetry behind sound and emotion, success did not look away. The young men began to tell their story in a loud fashion carried by their distinct voices to the ears of success and you the listener.
It all began when things were LOOKIN UP, but personal anguish, struggle, betrayal and self discovery became the first out of many obstacles for them. The young men then began to reveal their pleasures and adventures as well, which aimed beyond SPACE JAM, a place that consists of club filled festivities, lust and temptations. Success shows a face of disgust and almost tells the affiliates to find another door but stops as they begin to describe the day after as a realization state. A realization of work needed to be done in order to achieve their goals, REDEMPTION was mandatory. Therefore, the two began to walk far away from the path of being YOUNG NAIVE and in the direction of the fortunate. They analyzed their lives and came to a conclusion that they just needed to CHILL. Music, a woman of great power, was someone they both admired, she had many forms and messages to relay to them. However, they also came to the understanding that she was, as of late, being mistreated and was in deep need of AFFECTION. Therefore, in order to do so they would have to challenge Hip Hop and all of it’s selfish ways. Hip Hop was once a great admirable leader but chose to follow an unethical path which transformed her into SEINFELD, a being of thoughts of complete nothingness. After telling success their journey, success responded with an unlikely answer, an answer that has only been heard by very few before…an answer only some can dream of…”WELCOME IN”…amen.

It still surprises me how slept on Starlito is, after all the guy has dropped about 4 brand new mixtapes in the past few months and is signed to Cash Money…but those who follow Star know this is nothing new. However this hasn’t stopped the talented rapper from releasing this street album “Renaissance Gangster” and it definitely delivers. Lito’s wit shines throughout as well as his storytelling ability over dope beats make this worth a listen for sure.

Here’s the final tracklist for the album from the duo which now has an official release date of May 25th. After the jump you can compare it with the tentative tracklist that leaked a while back

Meet “Playstation Move”

March 11th, 2010

As you can probably gather from the pic above Playstation recently announced that it is releasing a rival to the Wii console by Nintendo that will be called “Playstation Move.” Details are still limited but the keys are that it should be out by the end of this year, priced under $100, and is compatible with certain existing PS3 games such as Tiger Woods golf and Socom 4. Definitely something to keep your eye on.

Jets, Fool!

Fresh off his features with Curren$y in Smokee Robinson and Prioritize, ‘Nes graces us with this track off his upcoming tape, “Side B: The PhipsTape,” which is expected to release at the top of April.  Be on the lookout for Phips as he’s also due to collaborate with Curren$y on an upcoming ” Smoke Tape” project which doesn’t have a release date yet.

Here’s a new cut from the gunner himself Young Chris (ha) featuring Roc Nation wunderkind J. Cole. It seems kind of right that they would be on a track together and yet this one is still unexpected old Roc meets new. For those of you who follow Young Simba closely some of this verse should sound familiar…you can find this one on Young Chris’ upcoming mixtape The Network 2

As many people know today marks the anniversary of Christopher Wallace’s death and all these years later the impact is still felt. As Canibus put it and many have repeated “The greatest rapper of all time died on March 9th” so today pull out the old cassettes and bump the classics in the Notorious one’s name. Some people called him the King of New York, Frank White. Others called him Big Poppa but regardless of what he went by one thing remains clear…Biggie Smalls is the ILLEST.

If the world we know turned to dust and a new civilization wanted to know what hip-hop was that video/song is the essence of it all. We’ll always love Big Poppa….rest in peace B.I.G.
